SADDLE UP FOR GETTYSBURG!
September 12-14, 2014

It’s Boots and Saddles as this will be an ALL-CAVALRY TOUR ON THE BATTLEFIELD OF GETTYSBURG—and beyond. See where J.E.B. Stuart, George Armstrong Custer, John Buford and Wade Hampton clashed saber to saber. On one day, you will become real horse soldiers as you ride on horseback, or, if you prefer, a horse-drawn carriage over the Battlefield. We will ride to the sound of the guns with our Tour Guide JIM HESSLER, Author of “Sickles At Gettysburg” and the upcoming “Custer At Gettysburg.” CLICK FOR MORE INFO

The FLETCHER PRATT AWARD was established in 1956.  One of the charter founding members of the CWRT of NY, Fletcher Pratt was a prolific writer, authoring 16 books, including six on the American Civil War. On June 19, 1956—just eight days after his death—James D. Horan proposed that a Fletcher Pratt Literary Award be established.

The BENJAMIN BARONDESS AWARD was established at a meeting held December 13, 1960, through a suggestion by Dr. John McGowan, to any person or institution and for any contribution to the greater appreciation of the life and works of Abraham Lincoln as decided upon by the award committee."
